About Us

The Oregon Association of Veteran School Certifying Officials (OrAVSCO) is dedicated to supporting those who assist Veterans participating in higher learning/education with the goal of obtaining the career of their choice. OrAVSCO is committed to serving the interests and needs of our Veterans by establishing an association of members who facilitate Veteran educational needs.

The desire for a state organization was conceptualized years before the development and launched OrAVSCO non-profit organization in the spring of 2015.

OrAVSCO’s focus is to promote professional competency and efficiency. We will achieve this through; state and regional conferences, the promotion of highly respectful and professional standards, and through the development of policies and ethical practices. We will provide opportunities to facilitate training, conceptualize new ideas, and provide support and information. In addition, OrAVSCO will serve as a liaison between members and the State Approving Agency (SAA), Education Liaison Representatives (ELR), and Muskogee, Oklahoma Regional Office.

OrAVSCO will be governed by four Executive Officers and 5-7  Board members. OrAVSCO members will be eligible to apply for a position on the Board or run for a vacated Executive Officer position. A majority vote of the membership will fill positions.
